Join a collaborative Human Resources Cohort designed specifically for local nonprofits! This group provides a supportive space to share challenges, exchange best practices, and explore solutions tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit organizations. Whether you’re managing recruitment, navigating compliance, or enhancing workplace culture, this cohort fosters connections and learning to strengthen your HR capacity.

All sessions will be 9am to noon, with the exception of the final session which will be 9am to noon, and a provided luncheon after from 12:30pm to 2pm.

Topics include:

  • Preparing to hire: job descriptions, resume reading, interviewing, etc.). Presented by Perry and Associates
  • Creating an HR manual and understanding the role of the board. Presented by Sarah Barton, SHRM
  • Compliance issues: the new overtime law, payroll, taxes and record keeping). Presented by Bonnie Thomas of Steptoe and Johnson Legal firm
  • Culture building and staff engagement. Presented by Caprice Hudson: HR Director for Marietta College
  • Unique nonprofit concerns in HR working with limited budgets/staff, volunteer management and centrality of the organization’s mission. Presented by Goodwill

Each session is progressive, so attendees must be able to attend all 5 sessions.
