Current policy considerations at the state and federal levels could have significant impacts on non-profits in West Virginia and the populations they serve. Kelly Allen with the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy will share the latest state-of-play from Charleston and Washington on the state and federal budgets and potential changes to programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and others.

Presenter: Kelly Allen, WV Center on Budget and Policy

Kelly Allen is the executive director at the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy. She is a lifelong
West Virginian who joined the WVCBP team in 2018 to advocate for a prosperous West Virginia where
everyone has a meaningful opportunity to thrive through equitable access to health care, education,
jobs, housing, and safe communities. Prior to joining the WVCBP, she worked on health policy advocacy
and Medicaid expansion in West Virginia.
As director of the WVCBP, Kelly appears frequently in the media and is a regular speaker to civic
organizations and lawmakers on tax and budget issues, health policy, and the needs facing West Virginia
families. Kelly holds a B.A. in political science and communications from West Virginia University and a
Master of Public Administration from Penn State University. She lives in Morgantown with her family
including a toddler, Hudson.
