SUMMARY:Social Networking and Social Work Management
DESCRIPTION:The use of social networking as a communication tool has become common practice for today’s society and\, while an inventive and convenient way to connect with others\, has also become a method for social work managers to scope out potential employees\, as well as spy on the activities of existing employees. \nThis presentation will discuss the use of social networking as a method to increase communication amongst staff\, as well as how it can negatively affect staff relations. Additionally\, workshop participants will learn the risks and benefits of how social networking can be used as a hiring and management tool. Through case examples\, dialogue and group discussion/work\, participants will analyze how to create boundaries with staff and clients regarding social networking\, how to identify risky situations\, and how to educate staff and clients about responsible use of social media.
