SUMMARY:Social Networking and Social Work Management
DESCRIPTION:The use of social networking as a communication tool has become common practice for today’s society and\, while an inventive and convenient way to connect with others\, has also become a method for social work managers to scope out potential employees\, as well as spy on the activities of existing employees. \nThis presentation will discuss the use of social networking as a method to increase communication amongst staff\, as well as how it can negatively affect staff relations. Additionally\, workshop participants will learn the risks and benefits of how social networking can be used as a hiring and management tool. Through case examples\, dialogue and group discussion/work\, participants will analyze how to create boundaries with staff and clients regarding social networking\, how to identify risky situations\, and how to educate staff and clients about responsible use of social media. One reason many people find grant writing so frustrating or overwhelming is because they haven’t spent enough time planning how to present their programs before they begin the writing process. The 90 minute webinar will teach you how to manage your grant seeking process so that 80% of your time is spent planning a strong application and only 20% is required for writing the application. Alice Ruhnke will discuss how to use her planning tool so that all parts of your application are coherent\, well-developed\, and connected. Once you begin using this system\, you time spent preparing applications will be shortened!
