SUMMARY:Ripple Effects Mapping (REM) Two Day Training Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This in-person training is offered by Philanthropy WV\n\nTuesday\, May 16th – 17th\, 9:00 AM – 15:00 PM ET & 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET\n\nRegistration Fees: $350\nSpecial offer – the first three (3) WVNPA members to register will receive a 50% discount!  \nRegister Now\n\nJoin Philanthropy WV and West Virginia Prevention Research Center for the Ripple Effects Mapping (REM) Training.  REM is a qualitative evaluation tool to assess direct and indirect impact of programs and initiatives. REM includes four crucial components – appreciative inquiry\, a participatory approach\, interactive group interviewing and reflection\, and mind mapping. \nThis two-day training will provide participants with the necessary information and practice to successfully complete a Ripple Effects Mapping session. Training on facilitation\, mind-mapping\, the logistics of REM\, and doing REM in WV will be provided along with strategic practice sessions for participants to apply their knew found knowledge of REM. \nREM celebrates what community-based organizations (CBOs) are able to accomplish by encouraging participants to talk about their successes with each other and the facilitator. Then\, the facilitator maps their progress on paper while a mind mapper maps their progress on a computer. This process provides the CBO with a physical manifestation of the “ripple effects” of their hard work and gives them the ability to stand back and recognize the difference they have made. \nFurthermore\, REM data can be thematically analyzed\, just as all other qualitative data\, to provide definitive insights into impact for funders. REM provides an alternative way to evaluate programming where the funders get the information that is most important to them in a less obtrusive and time-consuming way for CBOs than traditional evaluation data collection techniques. \nThank you to our sponsors for their support\n           \n  \n\nWHEN: This will be a 2 day training event \nDay One- May 16th from 9 am to 5pm \nDay Two- May 17th from 9am to 12pm \nWHERE: The training will take place at the Bridgeport Conference Center \nhttps://bridgeportconference.com/ \nHotel Info:    https://bridgeportconference.com/hotels/ \n \nCOST: \n$250 for Philanthropy WV Members $350 for Non-Members \nTraining spaces are limited\, and registration will be closed after all the spots are filled. \nWe will send you your invoice after registering. Payment must be made by April 15th to secure your registration. \nRegister Now \n\nTRAINER BIOS \nKATHRYN BURNHAM\, MA \nKathryn (Katie) Burnham is the lead evaluator for state partnerships for the West Virginia Prevention Research Center. SUMMARY:OMB Uniform Guidance: What the Updates Mean for Nonprofits
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is offered by the National Council of Nonprofits.\n\nThursday\, May 30th; 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM ET\n\nRegistration Fees: FREE \n\nRegister Now\nLearn how to take advantage of newly announced improvements to federal grantmaking processes\nThe federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently announced significant revisions to the Uniform Guidance that promise big\, long-sought changes in how organizations access grant funding at the federal\, state\, and local levels. For many nonprofits\, this will mean easier application and reporting processes\, better funding for indirect costs/overhead\, and much more. \nThe networks of the National Council of Nonprofits are hosting a free webinar with OMB officials Deidre Harrison and Steven P. Mackey and additional experts to discuss these historic revisions\, implementation timelines\, and real-life implications for charitable nonprofits. \nWhy the changes matter\nThe newly released rewrite addresses longstanding problems in government grants not fully covering nonprofits’ actual costs\, advances equity by making grants accessible to more organizations and communities\, and makes other significant reforms that will reduce bureaucratic barriers and burdens. They also reduce costs of seeking\, performing\, and reporting on grants using federal funds. \nWho should attend this webinar\nRegardless of the size of your nonprofit and whether your organization manages scores of grants or has never received grants from governments\, every nonprofit will benefit from attending this webinar. As for who\, any and everyone in your organization dedicated to the impact and sustainability of your mission\, especially people serving in any of the following roles: \n\nExecutive Director/CEO\nCFO\nDevelopment/Fundraising Directors\nGrant Managers\nProgram Leads
