SUMMARY:Fundraising Series: What's Next for Fundraising? Trends\, Technology\, and Generational Shifts (FREE)
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is being hosted by CommonGood Vermont \nMarch 5th\, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM \nRegistration Fees: FREE \nREGISTRATION\nWhat will successful fundraising require in 2026 and beyond? In this forward-looking panel conversation\, Vu Le\, Philip Deng\, and Mel Houser will explore the forces reshaping nonprofit fundraising—and what these changes mean for organizations of all sizes and missions.  \nPanelists will discuss key fundraising trends in 2026\, including how generational change and wealth transfer\, advances in AI and technology\, and increased collaboration among nonprofit organizations are transforming how nonprofits engage donors and approach solicitation. Drawing on their experience and observation\, panelists will share their perspectives on what’s shifting\, what’s emerging\, and what may need to be left behind.  \nThe conversation will also highlight practical insights and tips fundraisers and nonprofit professionals can apply as they adapt their strategies\, messaging\, and relationship-building approaches in a changing landscape—particularly as federal policy changes continue to impact the sector. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of where fundraising is headed and how to prepare thoughtfully and strategically for what’s next.  \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to certificates@commongoodvt.org. \nRegister here to attend this free panel discussion. This webinar is also a part of Common Good Vermont’s 2026 Fundraising Series. If you would like to purchase a ticket for all four paid webinars of this series ($50+ in savings)\, please register here. WVNPA members save 10%\, email hilaria@wvnpa.org for the discount code. \nAbout the Panelists:  \n \nVu Le (“voo lay”) is a writer\, speaker\, vegan\, Pisces\, and the former Executive Director of RVC\, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color\, strengthening organizations led by communities of color\, and fostering collaboration among diverse communities. \nVu’s passion to make the world better\, combined with a low score on the Law School Admission Test\, drove him into the field of nonprofit work\, where he learned that we should take the work seriously\, but not ourselves. There’s tons of humor in the nonprofit world\, and someone needs to document it. He is going to do that\, with the hope that one day\, a TV producer will see how cool and interesting our field is and make a show about nonprofit work\, featuring attractive actors attending strategic planning meetings and filing 990 tax forms. \nKnown for his no-BS approach\, irreverent sense of humor\, and love of unicorns\, Vu has been featured in dozens\, if not hundreds\, of his own blog posts at NonprofitAF.com. \n  \nPhilip Deng is co-founder and CEO of Grantable\, an AI-powered proposal writing assistant. He brings 15 years of nonprofit sector experience\, including as a founder and executive director\, grants manager\, and freelance grant consultant. In 2020\, he began developing software to utilize AI to draft proposals more efficiently. He has participated in three startup accelerators\, giving him a strong understanding of technology paired with his background in nonprofits. He is the author of the weekly newsletter and podcast\, The Process\, which discusses the future of technology and philanthropic work. \n  \nMel Houser\, M.D. (she/they) is the Founder and Executive Director of All Brains Belong VT\, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Montpelier\, VT with a mission to support the health and belonging of people with all types of brains. Dr. Houser provides neurodiversity training to organizations around the country about how and understanding of brain science can help employees be supported to do their best work.

SUMMARY:Fundraising Series: To Campaign or Not to Campaign - Assessing Campaign Readiness
DESCRIPTION:This webinar series is being hosted by CommonGood Vermont \nMarch 117th\, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nRegistration Fees: $45 for single tickets\, $40.50 for members \nREGISTRATION\nNonprofit leaders and fundraisers often ask how to know if they’re ready for a special campaign—whether for facilities\, endowment\, or other special needs. \nThis presentation will provide a framework for answering the question—and to address any gaps. We will walk you through a method of self-assessment that’s based on key indicators of campaign success that we have observed in our decades of experience and research. \nThese indicators reach across your organization: the Board and other volunteer leadership; the organizational leadership; your prospect list; your fundraising operation; your image in the community; and\, crucially\, how relevant\, urgent\, and compelling your plans and preliminary case are. Organizations that have done the work in all of these areas are better positioned to succeed in a campaign. \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to certificates@commongoodvt.org. \nThis webinar is a part of Common Good Vermont’s 2026 Fundraising Series. If you would like to purchase a ticket for all four webinars of this series ($50+ in savings)\, please register here.
