Join WVNPA’s Board of Directors

The West Virginia Nonprofit Association (WVNPA) has board openings for terms starting in January 2024 although terms may start at any time throughout the year. Our Board is actively recruiting for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about the nonprofit community in our state and have the time, resources, and connections to contribute to our mission. The WVNPA Board of Directors is an engaged and high performing board with a strong commitment to diversity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintaining an active membership in the WVNPA.
• Actively participate in and attend board meetings, in person and/or via video calls.
• Actively participate in a selected or designated working committee and attend committee meetings via conference call or in person.
• Support the mission of the WVNPA by actively recruiting new members.
• Support the growth of the WVNPA by participating in fund development activities.
• Support the WVNPA by making a personal contribution annually.
• Act as an advocate for the mission and purposes of the WVNPA and for West Virginia’s nonprofit sector.

The majority of the work of the Board is done through standing committees. Committees typically meet by video/conference call during the 6-week period prior to the board meetings. Each board member is asked to serve on at least one of the following committees:

• Executive Committee (Officers plus Program & Membership Committee Chair)
• Governance
• Finance & Fund Development
• Public Policy & Advocacy
• Membership & Programming
• Summit Planning
