At this District Dialogues event, we’ll dig into the latest research and economic data, hear local experts discuss the key factors impeding rural investment, and identify policies and programs that may support economic outcomes and community development.
As a regional Reserve Bank, the Richmond Fed has a mission to strengthen the economy and the communities we serve. With nearly a quarter of the Fifth District’s population living in small towns and rural communities, the Richmond Fed is committed to understanding the unique challenges facing these areas and sharing research and what works to address these challenges. Some Fifth District rural communities and small towns are thriving, but others are struggling, held back by issues such as population and job loss, lack of childcare and limited educational opportunities.
Interested in learning more? All community members are invited to join us Wednesday, September 3 at 2:00 PM in person at West Virginia University or virtually via Zoom. There is no cost to attend, but all attendees are asked to register in advance. In-person attendees are invited to join us before the event for networking and refreshments.
