This workshop is designed to expand nonprofit professionals’ knowledge and understanding on human service organizations and to provide approaches for managing human services organizations effectively. Organizational management and leadership theories will be introduced and discussed. Workshop participants will be exposed to various management practices in administering public and private not-for-profit organizational programs. This workshop will provide participants with the fundamentals of organizational culture change and discussed the role of leaders in nonprofit organization. Topics includes; assessment of organizational culture; organizational change theory and its applications, traditional and current leadership theories in nonprofit organizations.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will define their organizational culture; be able to analyze the structure and dynamics of human service organizations and understand leadership theory; and be able to determine their leadership style that are successful in promoting a healthy organizational culture.
