Executive Director – Generation West Virginia
Generation West Virginia (GWV) is looking for an Executive Director to lead our organization in attracting, retaining, and advancing young people in West Virginia. At GWV, we work each day toward a vision of West Virginia where young people don’t feel like they have to choose between their home state and the life they want and deserve. Over the past decade, we’ve transitioned from a true startup nonprofit to an established statewide organization whose impact and perspective is recognized and respected as a leader in community and economic development. GWV has grown quickly from a budget of $75,000 to $1.2 million, and we’re now a dedicated team of eleven full-time staff members carrying out programs that make it possible for more young people to stay, move to, or come home to West Virginia. We are known as an organization that leans in on a complex mission to achieve real results, and we are looking for a visionary leader for this next phase of our organizational life cycle: sustaining our momentum, deepening our impact, and supporting our growing team in carrying out our mission. NewForce Employer Partnership Manager – Generation West Virginia
Generation West Virginia (GWV) is looking for an Employer Partnership Manager to support NewForce, our six-month, tuition-free software development training program in West Virginia. We believe that everybody deserves access to a good job. We founded NewForce to train people with little to no coding experience as full-stack software developers and connect them with entry-level developer jobs in West Virginia. We’re inspired every day by our students’ potential, both individually and collectively, to impact West Virginia for good. We do everything we can to prepare them for their first tech jobs and get them in the door so they can start making waves.  Building a career pipeline for our graduates is hard work. The good news? We get to experiment every day with what works and what doesn’t, because there’s a lot to still be figured out about what it takes to build clear pathways to tech jobs in West Virginia. We get to imagine new ways of supporting our employer partners and new ways of building community in a decentralized tech workforce. We have an unbelievable opportunity to define what rural tech looks like, and to make sure it works for everyone. We have full-time staff dedicated to other parts of NewForce– instruction and career prep, for example– but it is time to grow the team to have someone fully dedicated to building the employer relationships we need for our grads to land good jobs quickly. We’re ready to help more employers and grads find each other. That’s where you come in! Click here for more information and to apply today!
