Faith in Action of the River Cities – Executive Director
Faith in Action River Cities, an inter-faith organization providing vital non-medical services to seniors in the Tri-State seeks compassionate, organized individual to fill the position of Executive Director.  Qualifications: bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in management or human services or equivalent experience; a commitment to serve the underprivileged, elderly and disabled; an appreciation for and acceptance of different expressions of faith; excellent organizational and planning skills; effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher, Excel and familiarity with Quick Books. Responsibilities: identifying and applying for grants and funding sources; planning and carrying out fundraising projects and events; supervision of employees and volunteers; recruiting and training of volunteers; and management of budget and office duties.  Position occasionally requires working some evenings or weekend hours and may necessitate being able to stand for long periods of time and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.  Full job description is available upon request. Catholic Charities West Virginia: SNAP Outreach Specialist
Catholic Charities West Virginia is looking for a full-time SNAP Outreach Specialist located in Princeton WV, who will work closely with the SNAP Outreach Coordinator in developing relationships with community organizations which is essential in carrying out the mission and vision of Catholic Charities Wet Virginia and the SNAP Outreach grant. The SNAP Outreach Specialist will work closely with local DHHR offices to insure a successful SNAP application process. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social service or related field or high school diploma and 3 years of experience in social service field; understanding and/or experience in community outreach; ability to work with economically disadvantaged clientele with compassion, understanding and positive attitude; Knowledge of community resources and services; excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills; excellent computer skills with the ability to track data and generate reports; must have transportation and be willing to travel as needed. Catholic Charities West Virginia : Nutrition Monitor
Catholic Charities West Virginia is looking for a full-time Nutrition Monitor for the Child Care Food Program located in Morgan, Jefferson and Berkeley counties.  The duties include monitoring a caseload of family child care providers, recruiting new providers to the program, organizing and completing unannounced meal reviews in the homes of participating providers, ensuring that child care providers maintain the required documentation to participate in the program, and assisting in the development and delivery of training events. Grow Ohio Valley – AmeriCorps Local Food Systems Service
Improve social justice in Rustbelt Appalachia by joining Grow Ohio Valley’s efforts to improve local food systems. Grow Ohio Valley (GOV) is seeking year round and partial year positions to work on all aspects of its nationally recognized efforts to improve food justice in Wheeling, West Virginia and the surrounding region. Candidates should have demonstrated interests in social justice, urban agriculture, education, and/or food systems work, with a desire to reduce poverty, a passion for service, and readiness to work with their hands. Members will integrate into GOV’s core operations in food justice and local food access, as well as facilitate garden-based learning in schools and communities. GOV is searching for exceptional candidates to fill these key roles, with opportunities for 12 month, 6 month, 4.5 month, and 3 month positions. These are full time positions that require 35 hours/week minimum. AmeriCorps members are critical to enhancing and expanding GOV’s programs to provide greater food security in the larger Wheeling community.
