Course Description
Nonprofits are founded to accomplish a stated purpose through specific activities that contribute to the public good. The vision statement sets the long-term goal of the organization. The mission statement provides day-to-day guidance on how the organization is going to reach that goal.
This course discusses how to build effective vision and mission statements, and then how to use those statements to help build the programs that will make the organization successful.
After completing the course, you will be able to
- Explain what makes an effective vision and mission statement
- Describe the steps to implementing the statements within your organization
- Build the teams necessary to get organizational consensus and buy-in
- Demonstrate how programs should be built to support the vision and mission of the organization
- Measure programs to ensure they are in line with the organization vision and mission
