Presenter Bio: Jennifer Hall

Jennifer Hall is Director of Community Engagement at United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley, where she runs the Valley Assistance Network (VAN).  Jennifer helped launch the Valley Assistance Network in 2017 to connect individuals and families with local resources. VAN was created to serve working families who are struggling to make ends meet – also known as the ALICE population (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). To date, the program has served over 1,200 families and made 4,500 referrals to community partners. Prior to this role, Jennifer worked for United Way of Central Carolinas as a development officer and volunteer coordinator.  She also served as Community Relationships Manager for the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, where she oversaw 3,000 volunteers, community outreach, and in-kind donations for the 400 bed shelter. She holds a certification in Volunteer Administration in North Carolina. Jennifer came to United Way with a background in communications.  She worked as a television news producer for several news stations in North Carolina.  Jennifer is a native of Winchester, VA and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, attending sporting events when her husband coaches, and outdoor activities with her energetic son.
