Presenter Bio: Katie Loudin

Katie Loudin is the director of the Center for Community Engagement & Leadership Development (CCE) at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC). Katie has been in the CCE for the past nine years after completing her Master of Public Affairs degree in nonprofit management and policy analysis at Indiana University.  As an undergraduate at WVWC, Katie was an Oxfam America CHANGE leader and facilitator and, upon graduation, spent a year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand.  Katie has been instrumental in the development of the Wesleyan Service Scholars program, the flagship student volunteer program for the college.  Over the past nine years, Katie has also built the WE LEAD peer council into a thriving community outreach student organization focused on social issues.  With more than 100 students in regular, weekly community-based volunteer work, Katie is well-versed in current student leadership theory and practice, specializing in strengths-based leadership, group development, and community-based strategy and facilitation work.  Katie is also the Vice-President of the Upshur County Board of Education, the Treasurer of the West Virginia Community Development Hub Board of Directors, and is on the steering committee for Generation Upshur.
