Serving Nonprofits. Strengthening West Virginia.

Nonprofit Coaching and Leadership focus group comes to Elkins July 8

By on July 1, 2014 in News

The West Virginia Nonprofit Association is conducting a feasibility study that will assess the need, viability and cost effectiveness of creating a robust training and coaching center for nonprofit organizations in West Virginia, The Institute for Coaching and Leadership.

The study will assess the needs of more than 1,000 nonprofits statewide—including the nonprofit organization members of the nonprofit association.

For this study, a series of focus groups is being facilitated by Lydotta Taylor of the EdVenture Group.

The first will be an on-site focus group July 8, 4-6 p.m. (to accommodate volunteer schedules) at the Randolph County Development Authority, 10 Eleventh Street, in Elkins.

For those unable to attend this in-person, on-site focus group, a second focus group will be conducted as an online webinar July 15, 1-2 p.m.

Each focus group will provide an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to let their voices be heard concerning the issues they face and to map the future of nonprofit training in West Virginia.

Participants for both focus groups are encouraged to register at wvnpa.org/events or by calling WVNPA Executive Director Laura Lee Haddad at 304-667-2248.

Membership in the WVNPA is open to all 501(c)3 West Virginia nonprofit organizations.

The WVNPA is an Emerging Member of the National Council of Nonprofits and serves as a clearinghouse for a wide range of benefits, services, best practices and planning that strengthen individual organizations and, in turn, serves as a platform for agencies and other service providers to reach nonprofits. The association also works to build awareness and public support for the importance and work of nonprofits in the Mountain State.
