WEST UNION –
Senator Joe Manchin made a stop on Friday to the WVU Extension Service in West Union, for a roundtable discussion with Philanthropy West Virginia and the West Virginia Non Profit Association.

They discussed how non-profits improve communities, and how they can work with Senator Manchin to fix the tax code and keep non-profits running.

“If they get wiped out and people aren’t able to get charitable or quit giving charitable. These organizations go away, and that’s not good for our country and it’s definitely not good for our state or our area here. I’m very much concerned and am going back I’m trying to do tax reform. I want tax reform to be done and I’m going to be carrying that message and what I learned here today,” explained Senator Manchin.

Some of the non-profits involved on Friday included the Doddridge County Family Resource Network, Mission West Virginia, and the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
